Sunday Market Fun
Sark’s village centre was the place to be this Sunday when visitors and residents flocked to enjoy the huge variety of wares on offer at the Avenue Summer Market. There were all sort of stalls to choose from selling homemade produce such as jams, cakes and pickles as well as plants, jewellery, bric-a-brac, pottery, paintings and craft items. Sark School Choir opened the event with some of their new songs and later on live music was provided by the island’s singer-songwriter, Peter Gabriel Byrne. There was plenty of food to choose from including freshly barbequed Sark lobsters provided by fisherman Dom Wakley. With the avenue decked out in bunting, plenty of sunshine and a lovely friendly atmosphere, let’s hope this new event will become annual fixture.
