A Great Night Out
Lovers of classic twentieth century American music had a night out to remember earlier this month when Friends of Sark Music presented Tony Jacobs performing the songs of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and other great songwriters. He was accompanied by virtuoso pianist Jim Barry and, as well as playing the trumpet and singing, Tony told a little of the lives of the songwriters and how some of their best-known pieces were created. Friends of Sark Music have two more concerts this year. The Kosmos String Trio will be performing music from the Balkans on 25th September and classical pianist Adolfo Barabino is giving a concert on 9th October.
