A Night of Murder & Mystery
Stocks Hotel was full on Saturday night as islanders and visitors gathered for ‘Death in Casablanca’, a murder mystery dinner played out by members of Sark Theatre Group. The theme for this tale of intrigue was Casablanca in 1942 and it featured a glamorous cast of shady characters who gradually revealed their motives for the murder of Le Chat Noir, a famous mime artist with a sideline as a cat burglar. Three people correctly guessed that Pierre D’Oily Cart and Josephine D’Amour, both members of the resistance, were the murderers but it could just as easily have been the mad Gestapo Officer, the desperate art dealer or the corrupt and sleazy deputy mayor!
