A Royal Guest on Sark
Princess Anne paid a flying visit to Sark yesterday to inspect the recent refurbishment of Point Robert Lighthouse. She arrived in a Trinity House Helicopter and was greeted by Seigneur Christopher Beaumont, his wife Sarah and son Hugh. Cerys Knight, Miss Sark Princess, presented Her Royal Highness with a posy of flowers. Princess Anne then took a carriage driven by Helen Magell to Point Robert where she visited the lighthouse and met those involved with the refurbishment. She was presented to the island’s Constable and court officials before meeting Katie and Georgina from the Sark Watch junior wildlife group. She also met members of Sark Community Blooms and the Sark Knitters who showed her the work they have done for the Tumaini Fund. The Princess returned to the helicopter on the Milennium Field by carriage to continue her tour of the Channel Islands’ lighthouses with a visit to the Casquets off Alderney.
