The opening of our fabulous new slaughterhouse here on Sark today by His Excellency Sir Ian Corder. He also presented a plaque to engineer and project manager John Robinson who did all of the research and design work on this. The Sark Dairy Trust was set up to raise money for a new dairy on Sark. On Saturday a fundraising event was organised by one of the trustees, Richard Axton and held at Time and Tide. Royal Rarities One of the rarest butterflies in the British Isles was seen on Sark recently in the grounds of the Seigneurie Gardens. Resident wildlife photographer Sue Daly photographed a pair of Queen of Spain fritillaries mating in the donkey paddock and later saw one of the pair feeding on flowers in the walled garden.
