This weekend is a busy one in Sark. The island’s emergency services are holding an open day at the Seigneurie Gardens between 10.30 and 2.30 on Saturday 11th August as part of their 90th anniversary celebrations. At 2pm on the same day the Church Fare opens at the vicarage and on Sunday 12th August the ecumenical Sea Service will be held in Creux harbour starting at 11am. The ambulance boat the Flying Christine III will be in the harbour for the service then will be open to visitors until 1 o’clock. Looking further ahead, the Sark Horse, Dog and Pet Show is the island’s next major event and will take place in the Seigneurie Field on 19th August. The Grand Autumn Show will be from 29th to 30th August showcasing Sark’s finest flowers, home grown produce, baking, preserving and pickling. The Celebration of the Sea will be held on 8th September, a day of live music and the very best of Sark’s seafood.
