Discovering Sark’s Ancient Past
The archaeological team from Oxford University are back on Sark continuing their investigations into the island’s ancient past, a project now in its 16th year. The team also includes archaeologists from Sark and Guernsey and is led by eminent archaeologist Sir Barry Cunliffe. This year they have been revisiting sites on Little Sark, by a standing stone, and around the Manoir where they discovered the remains of a Medieval graveyard last year. Sir Barry will be giving a talk about this year’s discoveries at the Manoir (opposite the Visitor Centre) this Friday, 7th June, at 2pm.
