Sark went to the polls on 12th December when 22 candidates stood for 14 places in the island’s government, Chief Pleas. All but two of the Conseillers who stood were re-election were successful and four new faces, Karen Adams, Rob Cottle, Mick Mann and Margaret Mallinson, were chosen by the electorate. Three ladies topped the polls: Sandra Williams, Hazel Fry and Karen Adams. Almost 80% of the island’s electorate took the opportunity to have their say in who runs Sark with many returning in the evening to hear the votes counted and the results announced. The successful candidates will be sworn in on Friday 11th January when they will also be elected to the committees that make up Chief Pleas.
