Sark went to the polls this week with the first contested election in six years. Fifteen candidates put their names forward for the nine available places and 260 residents voted, a turn out of around 70%. Existing Conseillers Helen Plummer and William Raymond were re-elected, with Helen coming top in the poll, and will be joined by seven new faces for the next sitting of Sark’s Government, Chief Pleas, which will take place on January 16th. The other successful candidates were John Guille, Phil Long, Rod and Ellie Laylor, Mandy de Carteret, Chris Drillot and Simon Cauldridge.
