Emergency Services On Show
Sark Ambulance Service is celebrating its 90th birthday this year and the Marine Ambulance Service, which provides the Flying Christine ambulance boat, has its 60th anniversary this year. To commemorate both events Sark’s emergency services held two open days this month, one on Saturday 11th at the Seigneurie Gardens and another the following day in Creux Harbour in conjunction with the Sea Service which the Flying Christine attended. At both venues the island’s emergency vehicles were on display along with the health care equipment available to islanders from the Guernsey Ambulance and Rescue Service. Sark Fire and Rescue Service is looking for new recruits. Residents between the ages of 19 and 50 who are interested are invited to chat to Chief Fire Officer Kevin Adams to find out more before the deadline of 7th September.
