INAUGURAL OPERA SARK FESTIVAL
Saturday 12th September
Our finale on the evening of Saturday 12th starting at 6pm will be a Gala Concert at the Island Hall featuring all of our performers. We guarantee you will get up close to the music as we mingle with the audience to perform the most beautiful arias opera has to offer. The programme of songs will be announced a little closer to the date and will last approximately two hours with an interlude. Tickets for this concert are limited to 100 and cost £30 and can be obtained through Ticket Source at this Ticket Office. You can also obtain tickets from The Sark Tourist Office and from the Island Hall.

The cast for the Gala Concert will be:
Danae Eleni, Soprano: fresh from her fabulous performance as Despina with the Oxford Philomusica, and the title role in Gariné at the Grimeborn Festival.
Jassy Husk, Soprano: a Tasmanian born, award-winning lyric coloratura soprano, currently with English National Opera.
Claire Filer, Mezzo-soprano: most recently Angelina (Cinderella) in Rossini’s La Cenerentola.
Yvonne Howard, Mezzo-soprano: quite simply one of the finest singing actresses this country has produced. She made her début with the Royal Opera House‚ Covent Garden as Mercedes, Carmen. She is a regular at Glyndebourne as well as at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Adriano Graziani, Tenor: joining us for a weekend off from the Buxton Festival where he is Edgardo of Ravenswood, in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Previously his Macduff in Macbeth for Glyndebourne Touring Opera earned him the Glyndebourne Promise Award for the most Outstanding Young Singer.
Mark Llewelyn Evans, Baritone: our Artistic Director. You’ve seen him before as Don Giovanni in Guy Ritchie’s film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Mark has been warming up for the Sark Festival as Dr Falke in Die Fledermaus with the Carl Rosa Opera Company in Bath.
Elizabeth Rowe, Repetiteur: our accompanist. Elizabeth was Assistant Head of Music at the National Opera Studio, Course Director for Birkbeck University of London Opera Course, and is currently Head of Music for Opera Holland Park..
The performance will start at 6pm and should finish just before 8pm allowing hotel guests ample time to get to their dinner reservations. You will need to have booked accommodation on Sark in order to attend this evening’s performance.
