Giving Thanks for the Sea
Residents and visitors gathered in Creux Harbour last Sunday for the annual ‘Churches Together in Sark’ Sea Service. The ceremony was led by Methodist pastor Karen Le Mouton with readings from Kathleen Dewe of the Roman Catholic Church and Deputy Bailiff of Guernsey Richard McMahon. The Reverend Julia Dallon from St Peter’s Church gave the address and David Neale of the Anglican Church led Prayers of Intercession. Guernsey’s Salvation Army Band supplied music and the RNLI Guernsey Life Boat and St John Ambulance and Rescue Service Fly Christine were also in the harbour. The service ended with a blessing for the boats and all of those who go out to sea.
