Hitler’s British Isles
Author Duncan Barrett was on Sark recently to promote his book ‘Hitler’s British Isles, The Real Story of the Occupied Channel Islands.’ Duncan spent three months living on Guernsey to research the book and travelled over to Sark to speak to people here who lived through the Occupation. The book gives a fascinating insight into every day life on the Islands during the Second World War and the surprising challenges for those living under German Occupation. The event was hosted by the Sark Occupation Museum and some of those from Sark whose memories are recorded in the book were present for the lunch followed by a fascinating talk by Duncan about his project. The book will be for sale at the Sark Occupation Museum and online from Amazon from 14th June.
