January Jumbling & Other Fun at the Hall
Zoe Adams and her team of helpers held a jumble sale at the Island Hall in January in aid of the Red Cross. As ever there were stalls selling clothing, books, shoes and bric-a-brac as well as a tombola, raffles and a table overflowing with delicious homemade cakes. The event raised £684. Earlier in the month islanders gathered at the Hall for some fun and games on New Year’s Day. Normally this is an outdoor event organised by Dave Cocksedge and PJ to celebrate the New Year but bad weather meant moving inside this time. Along with funds raised by a charity darts match and from the second hand book sales at the Hall, £586 was raised for the Channel Islands Air Search who are gathering funds for a new aircraft.
