Mini Jumble Draws the Crowds
Fundraisers on Sark rang the chances recently when they held a jumble sale on a Friday evening rather than the usual Saturday lunchtime. This was smaller than usual jumble so the decision was made to use the boardroom and part of the downstairs café area instead of the main hall. There was the usual array of book, clothing and toy stalls along with bric-a-brac, raffles, Elsie’s cakes and tombola. The changes didn’t affect the turnout with plenty of locals and quite a few visitors snapping up the bargains and raising an amazing £527 in less than two hours. The proceeds are being donated to the Royal British Legion.
