New Bees at La Seigneurie
On the 26th March a swarm of honeybees travelled from Guernsey to Sark to set up home at the Seigneurie Gardens. The bees didn’t have to fly all the way but came in true Sark style on one of Sark Shipping’s ferries followed by a ride up Harbour Hill on the toast rack. From there they were transferred to a bicycle trailer for the short journey to the Seigneurie where bee-keeper Joe Birch was waiting for them. The new swarm are settling in well and, with the wealth of blooms in the walled garden and wildflowers emerging all over the island, are in the perfect place to make plenty of honey.
