Pets in Church
The annual Service of Thanksgiving for Pets and Animals was held at St Peter’s Church last weekend led by visiting vicar Gill Nicolls and Methodist Minister Karen Le Mouton. The service began with a procession led by the choir and several dogs and followed by two Shetland ponies led by Andy and Darren and Persil the sheep with his owner Dave Scott. Also in the congregation were several guinea pigs, all manner of dogs and a couple of tubs of slugs and snails. Ronaldo the Shire horse and his trainer Julie joined others outside where the service was relayed by loudspeaker and many of the dogs, inside and out, howled along with the hymns. Sark School Choir sang two lovely songs about animals and the collection will be donated to an animal charity.
