Pick up your rod
For those fishing fanatics, why not pack your rod and bring it to Sark. With miles of rocky coastline, it’s a great place to fish from the shore.
We have some fantastic bays to fish in with rocks and reefs, a variety of species for you to tick off your list and a deep water harbour which is particularly good to fish from at night.
It’s not just the locals who sing the praises of Sark’s fishy catch but the professional fishermen that visit our beautiful island.
The following images and the featured image of Maseline at dawn, have been taken by Christopher Kennedy, professional fisherman and magazine editor who has been busy catching some very big squid, bream, pollock, conger eels, bull huss, dogfish, tope, scad and wrasse. The sea bass are apparently particularly fun to catch. The greatest majority of fish are of course released.
