Sark Inspires New Books
Two new books featuring Sark have been published this month. ‘A Year in Sark’ by me, Sue Daly, is the second in the series based on the writing and photography for this news piece. From sheep racing and flower shows to school plays and charity events, the book records the busy, day-to-day life of the island through the last year. It costs £10.95 and is available at various outlets in Sark and by post from the Visitor Centre. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to order a copy.
Local poet Wendy Hill has turned her hand to writing for children with her new book ‘Simmie Goes to Sark’. The book tells a magical tale of island adventure as Simmie and his friend team up to rescue a horse called Hero and save Miss Elizabeth from being kidnapped. The book is beautifully illustrated throughout by Wendy’s daughter Louise and is available from various outlets in Sark and from the Small Island Publishing web site.
