Sark on TV
Sark has been chosen as the location for the next series of ‘Island Parish’, a BBC production that follows the life of small communities through the work of the local vicar or priest. Previous series have featured Barra off the west coast of Scotland and the Scilly Isles. The series is made by Tiger Aspect Productions who began filming here in Sark at Easter. They will be filming various aspects of island life over the next six months centred around the work of Methodist Pastor Karen Le Mouton and the Reverend Gill Nicholls of St Peter’s Church. The programmes will be shown early next year on Sunday evenings on BBC2.
Viewers in America will also be getting a glimpse of life on Sark thanks to a short film made with presenter Ben Fogle that will be shown on NBC. The film is part of a series of three news features showing potential visitors to the UK for the Olympics other aspects of life in the British Isles.
