Islanders gathered at the war memorial today to remember those from Sark lost in conflict. The Royal British Legion and Sark Standards were carried to the ceremony at the head a parade of Sark’s Emergency Services men and women and members of the British Legion. The Last Post was played by musician Ash Jarman after the church clock struck 11 followed by a two minutes silence. The names of all those lost in the two World Wars were read out then wreathes were placed on the memorial. The Service of Remembrance then continued inside St Peter’s Church.
