On Friday 17th February islanders gathered at the Hall for a very special book launch. ‘Sark Rocks’ is a delightful guide to the island’s remarkably rich geology with simple text and plenty of photographs. It has been written by Felicity Belfield who has been living in Sark since 1980 and visiting regularly for twenty years before that.
Felicity was born in 1921 and, ninety-one years later, this is her first book. It’s a real family affair with contributions of photographs and illustrations by Felicity’s children and grandchildren who all share her enthusiasm for the island’s geology. The book is published jointly by La Société Sercquaise and Small Island Publishing and is available from various outlets in Sark and directly from the Small Island Publishing web site, price £9.
