Sark to Jersey Rowing Race
After being postponed twice this summer due to windy weather, the 46th annual Sark to Jersey rowing race took place on Saturday 15th September. The 19-mile race starts in Dixcart Bay and finishes at Bonne Nuit Bay on the north coast of Jersey. This year’s winners were Guernsey’s Geomarine four-man crew who completed the race in one hour 50 minutes, just two minutes short of the record. A Jersey four-man team called Just Do It came second and the first pair across the line was another Jersey boat. Each boat has its own guard boat and this year the fleet was accompanied by the St Helier Lifeboat, the George Sullivan.
