Shakespeare Outdoors on Sark
There’s less than a week to go now until Oddsocks, the UK’s best-loved touring theatre group, arrive on Sark. They specialise in producing comedy, family friendly versions of the Bard’s work and will be performing outdoors at the newly created amphitheatre at the Seigneurie. On Monday 20th August they will be presenting the Tempest at 7.30pm, a science fiction version of Shakespeare’s tale of illusion and revenge, set in outer space. On Tuesday 21st August there will be a matinee show at 2pm of Romeo and Juliet with the warring Capulets and Montagues played as mods and rockers. The grounds open an hour and half before each performance for those wishing to bring a picnic and there will be a bar. Pre-show meals are available at Hathaways and posh picnics can be ordered from the Island Hall. The last few tickets are available on Sark at the Visitor Centre (cash or cheque only) or can be bought online at www.oddsocks.co.uk
