Sunshine, Showers & Autumn Gold
This autumn has brought Sark more than its fair share of rain over the last month but in between the downpours there have been some lovely sunny spells. The glorious low sunshine looks wonderful on the last few leaves on the trees and picks out the reds and oranges of the bracken on the coast beautifully. The sun and rainclouds have also combined to produce some stunning sunsets and rainbows, the one below captured from the south coast of Sark by Lucy Belfield. Our golden post box has also looked rather lovely in the late autumn sunlight. Flocks of starlings have been gathering around the island, often putting on amazing flight displays at dusk as they settle down to roost. Other interesting bird sightings have included redstarts, a nightingale and a greater-spotted woodpecker.
