Taste of Sark Week 2014
Taste of Sark Week is Here! Saturday 14th – Saturday 21st June
There is a wealth of wonderful food available on Sark thanks to the island’s cafés, restaurants and tea gardens but for those who love good food the third week in June is the very best time to be here. This is Taste of Sark week, a seven-day celebration of the very best local cuisine organised by Sark Tourism from the 14th to 21st June. Fourteen island eateries are taking part by promoting their favourite dish using as many local ingredients as possible from lobster salads and sandwiches to curries, cream teas, seafood chowders, home-baked cakes and full English breakfasts.
To find out more pick up the free guide that also has a map showing the location of the establishments involved. There is also a Tasty Walk, a self-guided circular route that takes in ten of the cafés and restaurants featured. The walk takes about 2.5 hours, unless you stop at each establishment in which case allow all day! (The guide and walk map are both available from the Sark Visitor Centre and the Sark Shipping office in Guernsey.) Don’t despair though if you can’t be here during Taste of Sark week – many of the dishes illustrated are on offer all summer long with plenty of other delicious meals featuring the best of Sark’s delicious seafood, meat, dairy products, fruit, salads and vegetables.
