Volunteers in Action
Volunteers have been out over the last two weekends tending to two of the island’s most beautiful locations. In an initiative led by La Société Sercquaise, an area of blackthorn has been cut back at the top of the Eperquerie Common to reveal the view. The work was done with a digger but the job of removing the last few roots and rocks and levelling the ground was carried out by hand. The footpath down to Grande Grève was cleared and repaired the following weekend. This path has been maintained by volunteers led by Jeremy La Trobe-Bateman since a landslide covered part of the old route a few years ago.
