Our star ratings explained
All visitor accommodations on Sark are licensed by the Sark Tourism Committee. Accommodation permits are granted annually and all new accommodations are inspected before being allowed to take visitors. In addition, those accommodations which provide meals for guests have kitchen inspections carried out by the Sark Public Health Committee and Guernsey Environmental Health Officers. This year some accommodation owners on Sark have opted to have their establishments accredited so that they receive star ratings which are equivalent to those awarded in Guernsey and Britain. The star rating for those establishments are clearly shown on this website. The other accommodations may, in due course, join this scheme but the lack of star ratings does not have any bearing on the standard of the establishment. If you have any concerns about the standard of accommodation on Sark, you should report it to the Visitor Officers at the Sark Tourism Office.
